What a way to start the New Year… In 1804 Johann Nepomuk Hummel took up a post with the powerful Esterhazy family in Austria, and got off to a good start by conducting the first performance of his new Trumpet Concerto. Since then, this tuneful work has become a standby for trumpet players and a favourite with audiences. On the afternoon of Sunday 16 February the Wilmslow Symphony Orchestra will be marking its first concert of 2014 with a performance by our virtuoso principal trumpet, John Bush.

Workers waited for three hours while crews battled the flames and then a few hours more while the smoke cleared. Another fire in September, 2012, at PotashCorp’s Rocanville mine in eastern Saskatchewan forced 20 miners to seek shelter in underground safe rooms. No one was injured in either of those fires.

Er hat diesen humanitären Schritt in erster Linie dadurch erklärt, dass Österreich formell nicht im Krieg gegen die Sowjetunion war.

Von Haydn hörte man eines seiner Trios, die ursprünglich für Baryton geschrieben waren, ein damals beliebtes gambenartiges Streichinstrument. Haydns schrieb mehr als 125 solcher Barytontrios, weil sein Dienstherr, Fürst Esterházy, ein leidenschaftlicher Baryton-Spieler war.

Idée de génie s’il en est pour se faire remarquer, mais on serait tenté de croire qu’il y a plus… Les deux derniers artistes cités ont d’ailleurs déjà manifesté leur enthousiasme et encouragé l’ami Konoba. Un melting-pot à la belge tout au long duquel le sieur Raphael Esterhazy, de son petit nom, fait montre de bien des talents vocaux et rythmiques. …

Bon chanteur, musicien créatif, ré-arrangeur plutôt doué et producteur à ses heures, ce petit bonhomme originaire de Wavre a étudié la musique à Londres et Brighton cinq années durant avant de revenir étrenner son inspiration à domicile. Depuis 2011, Konoba sort en tous cas dans une relative confidentialité un album par an: “Miami Hotel” en 2011, “Mind the Gap” en 2012 et “Colours & Shapes” en mars 2013, dont le premier single “I’ve Been Dreaming” lui a valu quelques récompenses outre-Manche.
